Why Perform a Tune-up Service Every 10,000 Miles?

Regular engine tune-ups bring power and efficiency back to your car. At Otots, we visually inspect all of your engine components and install new parts (including spark plugs and fuel filters) as needed. After a Otobot car tune-up, you’ll discover your engine starts easier, runs smoother and is more efficient. A regular engine tune-up will lower emissions, improve fuel economy and restore lost power.

For your car to get its best gas mileage and engine performance, it needs clean fuel injectors, air filters and fuel filters. Plus, its spark plugs need to be in good condition. That’s why we examine your vehicle’s air filter when you stop in, and it’s why we recommend you follow manufacturer recommendations for replacing key components like filters and spark plugs when they’re past their prime.

Still not sure if your vehicle needs a tune-up? Read our FAQ’s:

How often does my car need a tune-up? Can I skip regular tune-ups?

Cars made since the early 1980s only need tune-ups every 30,000 miles. If your car was built before then, you may want to tune it up every 15,000 miles, and your tune-up will be more complicated than the tune-ups done on modern cars. If you own a brand new car, it may not need a tune-up for 100,000 miles.

Are there other services that need to be performed at the time – tire rotation, etc?

Your Otobot technician will recommend a service that he/she thinks can benefit your vehicle. If you have questions about a particular service please do not hesitate to ask.

If the “Check Engine” or “Service Engine Soon” light comes on, is it time for a tune-up?

Not necessarily. Your illuminated check engine light could be for a variety of things. Your Otobot technicial will be able to narrow down the issue and recommend the proper maintanence.

How long will a tune-up take? Can I leave my vehicle with the technician?

It could take anywhere from 1-3 hours to complete a tune-up. You could leave the vehicle, but we advise to be nearby so our technician can visually show you their concerns
